The Daily Donut Day 57- Wingnuts Blueberry Crumb Donut

Blueberries have been around longer than America. It is said dried blueberries helped the Pilgrims survive the first harsh winter in the colonies. Native Americans provided the Pilgrims with dried "star berries", so named for the small crown on each berry, to help fight illness. The dried blueberries were cooked in a corn cake, the first blueberry donut!
Almost 400 years later, Wingnuts has greatly improved on the original blueberry corn cake! The Wingnuts Blueberry Crumb Donut is heavy with delicious blueberry filling. The yeast raised donut is light, soft, and chewy. Vanilla icing with cinnamon sugar crumbles tops this historic donut. This is the donut the Pilgrims would have made if they had the ingredients and Wingnut! Stop by Wingnuts at 1207 Mt. Hermon Rd in Salisbury(410-546-4780) to try one of these blueberry beauties.

EAT HAPPY!
